The wine route

The Gaillacois vineyard

Stretching over a radius of 20 km around the town of Gaillac, it is one of the oldest terroirs in France, dating back to Roman times. It offers a wealth of unique grape varieties, such as Mauzac, Loin de l’Oeil or Syrah. This terroir is a perfect invitation for walking routes in a beautiful countryside, punctuated by magnificent estates and villages to visit.

The wine route

The vineyards of the Quercy hills

Located north of St Antonin Noble Val towards Caussade and Cahors, the terroir of the Coteaux du Quercy is characterized by its hilly landscapes, the white stone of the Quercy, its grape varieties, mainly Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec. An invitation to visit the white Quercy and its beautiful villages (Montpezat de Quercy, Castelnau- Montratier, Puylaroque).

Local gastronomy

The region benefits from the culinary reputation of South-West France with its must-have specialties around duck and goose with the different recipes of breast, confit of duck and of course foie gras often served in terrine or pan-fried . 
The cassoulet most often attributed to Toulouse is well present in the Tarn and the Tarn et Garonne.
Croustade (or Pastis) is a specialty made from apples, flavored with some sugar, cinnamon, and sometimes a touch of armagnac or rum.
